Billabong Barramundi Fishing

Hi Kurt
I was one of the four gentlemen you took fishing at Shady Camp last Saturday after you picked me up at Botanic Gardens Apartments.
I merely wish to say thank you for a memorable days fishing. You probably heard me say on the way out that I had been Barra fishing twice before and had caught one Barra. The total caught by all in the crews of those two trips was 2 only. On both previous occasions I felt unsafe in 12 foot dinghies which were impossible to stand up in because of fear of overbalancing. That is why I was really impressed with your rig. I think I noted it was 6.8 metres long with a beam I thought was possibly around 3 metres. A very,  very stable rig which we could all walk around in and feel comfortable.

You tried hard all day to find the fish by changing position to where the fish appeared on your sounder and the end result was 11 fish including 1x 82cm fish.

The food and drinks provided were first class and much more than adequate for my requirements.

All in all it was a memorable day and much appreciated by me. I was also lucky to get three other crew members whose company I enjoyed.

My dealings by email and phone with Mike in making my booking were also appreciated and deserve comment .

Cheers and again many thanks.
Bob Anderson
Hobart

PS I hope to come back to Darwin with a couple of mates to fish in the next couple of years so I hope to be making another booking sometime.

KURT: Firstly, thanks for an excellent day at Shady Camp. We’re still amazed that Val caught a barra on the very last run of the day...and we appreciate you delaying the departure from Shady for this reason.

We’d like to look at returning for 2 days and 1 overnight in May or June 2011 at a date that suits you, tides etc etc. i.e. we’ll leave it to you to select a suitable location ie happy to do some estuary/ocean and look at a different part of the world.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Kind regards
Rod and Valentine Meynink

Hi Kurt

I see you have made me famous with a spot on your website.

Thanks for a great trip. Paul and I really enjoyed ourselves and caught the biggest Barra that we are likely to encounter in the rest of our fishing lives.

regards

Greg Lamb

Hi Kurt,

I was one of the group you took out to Corroboree Billabong (5th May 2007).

I would like to thank you again for a terrific day, it was a pleasure being guided by someone with the knowledge and expertise that you sheared with us.

I look forward to planning an extended trip with a few friends in the next couple of years and will definitely book well in advance to ensure we are there at the time of year you recommended.

We had a meal at "Tim's Surf & Turf" on Saturday night as recommended and it also was terrific.

Thanks once again and I hope to plan our next trip sooner rather than later.

Thanks   Tom

Mike, thank Kurt for us, it was a perfect day.

Corroboree was amazing, it's hard to put into words.

Kurt was considerate to Jessica who is just 11, and was as pleased as she was when she caught seven fish - three of which were barramundi.

He told her about the fish, and about crocs, and lunch was excellent.

I would not hesitate to recommend the day to anyone and will do so. It is a day we will long remember, and I sincerely hope to get back up there and do it all again.

Regards Fran

Just a quick thanks to Kurt  for a unreal fishing trip for myself and my brother.

I don't think you need to improve on any of the area's. the trip was laid out very clearly from start to finish with the booking process.

The accommodation, food, boat and fishing gear was outstanding. My brother and i don't have any complaints at all.

Once again thanks for a great trip and we look forward going back in the near future to catch a bigger fish

All the best

Ben MacRae

I have been out on charters in many places all over the country and Kurt is one of the best guides I have been with.

He was a bit quiet at first but warmed up with the sun.

We got fish and I would not hesitate to recommend him to others.

I look forward to going out again when I’m next in the Top End

Regards
Steve

I would like to thank you for all your help with organising a great trip to the top end. The two charters we went on with Kurt on Top End charters were excellent days, could you pass on my thanks to Kurt.

Also the blue water trip great, myself and the rest of the boy caught fish we had to date only read about.

There is already talk of another trip next year, when details are confirmed I will be in contact.

Once again I would like to thank you for a great trip.

Cheers,
Anthony Walton.

How was your trip?

Probably simply by saying = EXCELLENT

Both Dianne and Rodger caught Barra - in fact Rodger scored 3, Dianne one plus a cod
Unfortunate for the others in the boat as they did not catch anything I did note however that one of my catches was used in a photograph by each of the other guys - so I guess some stories got stretched back home - especially as we shared our catch with them.

The drive up was good - clean vehicle, quiet nice driver - considerate to all The boat was clean and the equipment in excellent condition Meals and drinks were appropriate Price - overall we found it to be value for money and would consider using same again - especially at a different time of the year.

Thanks for your follow up.

Regards

Rodger Griffiths
